How to Install IPTV on Firestick (2026)

This guide covers installing IPTV on an Amazon Fire TV Stick from start to finish: preparing the device, sideloading a player with Downloader, and signing in with your MOM IPTV credentials. Every screenshot below was taken on a real Fire TV device during setup.

Before you start

  • A Fire TV Stick connected to your TV and to Wi-Fi
  • Your MOM IPTV login details — username, password and server URL — which arrive by email after you subscribe or start a 24-hour free trial
  • About ten minutes

Part 1 — Allow your Firestick to install outside apps

Fire TV blocks installs from outside the Amazon Appstore by default. This is a one-time change.

Step 1 — Open Settings

From the Fire TV home screen, move to the gear icon on the top row.

Step 2 — Choose My Fire TV

In Settings, select My Fire TV.

Step 3 — Open Developer Options

Select Developer Options. If you do not see it, open About first, then click your device name roughly seven times until Fire TV confirms developer mode is on. Go back one screen and Developer Options will appear.

Step 4 — Select Install unknown apps

Step 5 — Turn Downloader on

Find Downloader in the list and switch it from OFF to ON. Your Firestick is now prepared and you will not need to repeat Part 1.

Part 2 — Install the player with Downloader

Step 6 — Open Downloader

Return to the home screen and open Downloader. If it is not installed, search the Amazon Appstore for it first — it is a free official app.

Step 7 — Allow file access

On first launch Downloader asks for permission to store files. Select Allow.

Step 8 — Enter the download address

Downloader opens on a URL entry box. Enter the download address from your MOM IPTV activation email, then select Go. Check every character before continuing — a single wrong character is the most common reason this step fails.

Step 9 — Download and install

Wait for the download to finish. The install screen opens by itself — select Install.

Step 10 — Delete the installer file

When installation finishes, choose Done rather than Open. Downloader then offers to delete the installer file — accept, and confirm a second time. Fire TV storage is small and the installer is no longer needed.

Part 3 — Sign in with your MOM IPTV details

Step 11 — Open the player

Go to Your Apps & Channels on the home screen and open the app you just installed.

Step 12 — Choose Login with Xtream Codes API

Several login methods appear. Login with Xtream Codes API is the one to use — it pulls in the channel list and the TV guide together, which the playlist method does not always do.

Step 13 — Enter your credentials

Four fields appear. Playlist name can be anything you like. Username, password and server URL must match your activation email exactly.

Step 14 — Let the content load

The player downloads your channels, movies and series. This takes a minute or two on a normal connection.

Firestick problems and how to fix them

The app will not install

Almost always Step 5 — Downloader was not switched on under Install unknown apps. Go back and check the toggle, then retry the download.

Login fails

Retype the server URL by hand rather than pasting it, and check for a missing http:// or a trailing space. Passwords are case sensitive.

Channels buffer or freeze

The Fire TV Stick has limited memory. Close other apps, clear the player cache, and lower the stream quality in the player settings. A 5 GHz Wi-Fi band or an Ethernet adapter makes a bigger difference on Firestick than on most devices.

The TV guide is empty

This usually means the playlist method was used instead of Xtream Codes API. Remove the user and add it again using Step 12.

Everything worked, then stopped

Check whether your subscription is still active, then restart the Firestick by holding Select and Play together for a few seconds.

Questions about IPTV on Firestick

Does this work on all Fire TV models?

Yes — Fire TV Stick, Stick 4K, Stick Max, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV built into a television all use the same menus. Wording occasionally differs slightly between Fire OS versions.

Do I need a VPN?

Not for the installation itself. Some users prefer one for privacy; it is not required to complete these steps.

Can I use one subscription on my Firestick and my phone at the same time?

That depends on how many connections your plan includes. Plans are sold per connection — see pricing.

Will this slow my Firestick down?

Deleting the installer file in Step 10 and keeping other apps closed makes the most difference on the smaller Fire TV models.

Can I try it before subscribing?

Yes — the 24-hour free trial gives you credentials that work with the same steps above.
